I find the uppermost frets on my Gretsch kind of hard to get to and play. But I especially struggle with bends up there. So I decided to scallop the uppermost frets. I have a crazy idea to do the whole guitar but I wanted to try this out first just to see how it goes.

So I taped up the frets and started filing...

Then I polished and sanded them smooth.

Then I cleaned the wood...

Then I figured I should re-dye my fretboard seeing as I had it all apart anyway.

Roughed out...

Finished...

And the very final scallop all the way from the 13th fret to the 22nd.

Here is a video of the fast upper frets, they are fast!
