A new review of our CD "Farming in the Sands of the Hourglass" is up at

and it is an interesting read.

Thanks to Marcelo for his harsh but honest opinions.

Also the trauma of moving across the country has put a temporary pause on the "Let's Roll" video, but editing will start in the coming weeks, stay tuned.

Major revamps on the page, to keep that fresh look you know.

Yeah you don't care ...but I'm bored damn it!

Coming soon - Let's Roll  our  first music video is in production this month.

The new server is online and most of the bugs have been massaged out, if you spot one (or even if you don't) please let me know

Two new videos are on the "listen" page, check them out if you have a fast connection.

Alright ...this update is for the 3 people that still read this page.

Yippy yeah I have begun to revamp the web page today and hopefully in a week or two you will be able to read this.

Michael and Jeff have discussed trading WAV files and continuing to write new songs.

Michael is also the sit in bass player for Binky Tunny.

Michaels project with Sean and Chad from Strange Land called Soaker is coming along nicely ...look for them to play at Summerfest.

Oh yeah plus there is a new kitty running around my CA apartment these days.

Some interesting new developments from the East coast.

First a record company called GROOVEYARD RECORDS will be selling our CD on their fine website.

Click below to visit them and buy some CDs too.

Secondly a radio station out of Rochester by the name of WRUR has been playing our Farming CD on the air! Steve Bauer, a DJ at the station is not only a BattlestaR fan but he requested that I, your lowly guitar player, make a promo for the station.

How could I not?

Click here to listen to the promo

As requested by Michael some pictures of the very last show are now up on the pictures page.

Please check them out under "People, Places and Things" and then "Last Shows"

Also I am pleased to announce that Michael is doing some light jamming with Chad and Sean

from Strange Land. Their project is called "soaker" and I am dying to hear some of their stuff.

Nothing new here in Los Angeles and no word from Steve about anything in his musical life or otherwise.

That's all for now.

Now along with new audio tracks we have new Live audio and even a video for you to download. Amazing huh? Go to the "Listen" button one page back to experience this strange new phenomenon.

Jeff ...in the desert

No more dependence on MP3.COM for MP3's! We appreciate them helping us out, but now there are spam free files for you to download if you click on "listen" one page back. Please go there now and find some new stuff.

OK by now you must have heard that I have gone completely mad and am relocating to the Los Angeles area, which will make the drive to practice a bit impractical. There is still much love in the band and Michael and Steven have been very kind to me throughout this whole ordeal even though they didn't have to be. I'm sure I will see you all again at some point cause I will just end up missing you all so damned much. Please send me an email at mainsoda@yahoo.com and keep in touch.

But ...one has to go where one's life takes one, and it is time for me to leave the shire.

Please take care and don't forget about BattlestaR CadillacticA ...cause we sure won't.

Summerfest was a blast as usual and the weather was very kind to us this year. Thanks so much to everyone who came out to support us at the new "almost all cover bands mostly all day" Summerfest. This next song is about a piece of toast!

Yes ...you can now buy our CD from CD baby online! Exciting 'eh?

Plus we have a few songs up at Garageband.com and it is always interesting to read other peoples views. Go to the Links page and scroll down to the screen at the bottom to find our page at Garageband.com ...if you have a few minutes to kill.

Summerfest pictures coming soon ... just gotta find some more time to work on the pictures page.

What an interesting show we had with Strange Land and Event last Monday. The crowd was small but feisty and a good time was had by all. Thanks for coming out on a week day night and hanging out with us.

Today Michael picked up our full run of 1000 CD's ...yes they are actually done. The CD is officially complete on this day, place a marker and throw away all the unnecessary paperwork ...oh and will somebody get me a drink please. Cripes!!!

We will take some time now to recover our speaking voices and write some new material. Expect to hear some by our Summerfest show. That's all for now, we'll talk soon ...ok?

BattlestaR CadillacticA

For those of you that couldn't attend ...I really hate to rub it in but ...the BattlestaR CadillacticA CD release show last night was simply one of the best, most fun experiences this little rock band has been a part of. Thanks first to Fiercely  Me and Koala for playing with us. Two great bands and two bunches of great guys. Thanks to Dave Vnuk for supporting local music (and us) the way he does. If there were more club owners like him, the world would be a better place.

Kirsten took this picture of the Gemini twins Jeff and Zak, ask them what they think about something and they'll give the same answer.

But mostly thanks to all of you who came out and helped us have such a great time at our CD release party. Your attendance means so much to us and every CD you buy shows us your love. Your warm reception and kind words make all the practicing, recording and duplication heartaches worth it. You are all too good to us and we thank you ever so much.

Binky made a cake on part of her roommates wall for Jeff's birthday, gosh that was nice!

Please stay tuned for more additions to the pictures page that will include a CD release section, and if you were one of the many people taking pictures that night please send them to us mainsoda@yahoo.com so we can put them up and give you credit! Please send any CD reviews to the same email address and you might get your thoughts posted (good or bad)

Lucky us, we have two great bands playing with us at our upcoming CD Release party for

Farming in the Sands of the Hourglass

they are:

Fiercely Me                                              Koala

Don't forget to come out to Vnuk's Lounge on...

May 24th 2003

to pick up a copy of our new CD and see these great bands.

BattlestaR CadillacticA

thanks you for your compliance

We have a date set for our big big CD release party! It also happens to fall directly on Jeff's birthday, so ...for whatever that's worth. But...

Saturday May 24th, 2003

BattlestaR CadillacticA would like to invite you, the reader of this humble news page, to attend our come-uppance and full blown

release of "Farming in the Sand of the Hourglass"

at Vnuk's Lounge.

We don't have all the other bands that might be playing with us that night but we will let you know as soon as we do.

That's all for now, please come out and buy a CD ...ok?

BattlestaR CadillacticA

thanks you for your compliance

The final proofs were approved and our CD went in for duplication yesterday ...everything is done now but the waiting! We are looking at a release party sometime in mid to late May! We will keep you posted on this as it is a developing story.

We can't wait for you to hear the CD and you won't have to wait long now (17 working days).

We continue to write new material and prepare for our many gigs in the near future.

On a more personal note, Michael is working on his home studio a lot these days ...preparing isolation rooms and setting up his computer. Steve is working on some web pages, one of which will be used for a high profile dog show in Chicago! Jeff just smiles all the time now, it's very irritating.

BattlestaR CadillacticA

thanks you for your compliance

Ok Ok Ok, the CD is like ...done ...alright ...AND we have a show coming up on the 19th of this month. Now I know what your thinking, you're thinking "CD release party" right? Wrong, we have to finish up some artwork now that the cool and gifted Paul Terrien has clicked our pictures once again. Then it's off to duplication and such. Who knows what could go wrong now.

Sooooo we are just playing this month at Vnuk's Lounge for the sheer fun of it. Please come out and see us play with a whole new and exciting band called Sidetract and our always uplifting purveyors of power pop, the indefatigable Fizzgig!

That's all for now

BattlestaR CadillacticA

thanks you for your compliance

5 songs are currently very close to completion and all 10 are expected to be totally finished by the end of the week. Duplication is another matter. It seems that it may take as much as a month and perhaps even longer to get our CD's made even after everything is complete. We are looking at a number of options right now, so something should be coming soon.

God Bless America and our troops

We have rough masters and mixes of some songs and once we get a good template we should be a good part of the way done. The artwork is coming along as well and everything is coming together. BattlestaR practice is back in session too as we write new material and  prepare for our big big CD release party. There is no date set right now because we want to make very sure that we will have a CD to market at our CD release party, you understand ...don't you?

Also it is worth noting that Michael and his Telecaster have a gig on Saturday March 22nd at Conway's. He will play blues rhythm guitar with our very good friends The Stacks Edward band. Please come out and support local music.

BattlestaR CadillacticA

thanks you for your compliance

Tonight we've finished all the vocal tracks for the new CD, which means that all the recording is now finished! The band is visibly excited. There may be some minor clean up and tweaking to be done yet, but post production is as good as here. A few more visits to OUTLANDER studios and we will be sending FitSotHg out for duplication. We cannot thank Scott Walczak enough, though we try.

A CD release party is coming and we have decided to have it at the most excellent Vnuk's Lounge. Please check back to see when this grand event will happen. It's going to be soon, that's all we know right now.

BattlestaR CadillacticA

thanks you for your compliance

Last weekend saw the completion of all the music for Farming in the Sands of the Hourglass. Yes, all the music is complete right now and some of the vocal tracks have been started. We expect to be done with all the remaining vocal tracks in roughly two weeks time. You never know how these things will go, but that's what we are shooting for right now.  We should be ready to pimp our new cd in less than two months. Exciting 'eh?

More news as it develops.

BattlestaR CadillacticA

thanks you for your compliance

I know this sounds unbelievable, but all the guitar tracks and drum tracks for Farming in the Sands of the Hourglass are complete. Honest! This next week should see the bass tracks laid as well. This would not have been possible without the kind and knowledgeable help of Scott Walczak and OUTLANDER studios. Give him money when you see him next and don't tell him why.

Our Chief Engineer

Stay tuned for new songs, they are on the way!

BattlestaR CadillacticA

thanks you for your compliance

BattlestaR CadillacticA is still recording with Scott at OUTLANDER studios. Yesterday I began to lay the guitar tracks and all the drum tracks are now complete! Steve is currently vacationing in parts unknown, so it is all up to me for now. Two further sessions at the studio this week should see most, if not all of the guitar tracks completed. The drum and guitar sounds that Scott is getting are quite incredible.

On a side note, I was just watching a TV show called "Dawson's Creek". It is the funniest show I've seen in ages. The funniest thing about it is that it is not meant to be funny. There is a sub plot in this show that deals with an all girl band that has just booked "a really big gig" and their lead singer is an irresponsible drug/alcohol  user. They reluctantly "let her back in the band" after she begs them and claims that she will be straight and not mess up again. But she is a lead singer after all and before too long she is invited back to the opening band's (who's name is Satan's Tampon) TOUR BUS to party with them!!! Ha ha ha ha oh my God it's so funny. Then, not wanting to seem "uncool" she accepts some unidentifiable pills from some strange guy that she has just met. (I guess that could actually really happen) So she plays the opening slot with her band and everyone in the crowd is all into it but she is totally wasted and falls down on stage. The crowd immediately starts to boo! I just can't stop laughing when I think about it. Ahhh, the rock and roll life style. What a great comedy.

BattlestaR CadillacticA

Michael Has begun to re-record the drum tracks for Farming in the Sands of the Hourglass with the help of Scott Walczak and OUTLANDER studios. This weekend should see progress toward a better sounding CD.  We owe Scott so much already and now he is being nice to us yet again. We have all promised to name our children after him.

BattlestaR CadillacticA

thanks you for your compliance

Please have a happy 2003

May the new year bring you everything you desire

Best wishes and God bless

BattlestaR CadillacticA

Steve, our esteemed bass player, is laying tracks right now at Sock Recording studios. Our adventure into PC recording is well underway and "Farming in the Sands of the Hourglass" is being chipped away at full steam by the band these days. There are two drum tracks that still need a little tweaking and, due to some new discoveries and a Christmas present, we are planning on redoing most of the guitar tracks as well. A week, maybe two and we should be on to vocals. With the acquisition of a new "sweet ass" tube pre-amp the vocal tracks should be buttery, easy and smooth. We will be playing no shows during this recording process, so if you could find it in your heart to miss us during this public appearance lapse it would go along way toward helping us have a really big CD release party when this baby is born.

BattlestaR CadillacticA

Well, we didn't get to meet Jani Lane cause Warrant got there moments before they played and left moments after they finished, but our first Rave gig was a blast all the same! Special thanks to Scott Walczak for mixing sound at this big gig for us. Thanks also to Katella for asking us to play. Thanks to all the people who came out too. Heaven wasn't to far away.

Please come out to see us at Vnuk's Lounge tonight. Gawd it's late I gotta get some sleep now.

BattlestaR CadillacticA

You know, somedays all you're trying to do is create a simple sub space field and before you know it, the tacheon particles that you are using to create your field are suddenly flooding the exhaust manifolds at levels that rise into the nacelles causeing a warp core breach forcing you to eject the core. But I guess you just gotta keep on keeping on 'eh?

We play with Warrant on Thursday and I am so looking forward to meeting Jani Lane!

Then on Friday it's the Big Vnuk's show!

It is truly Christmas in the BattlestaR camp this year!

God Bless

Holy cow Cadillacticans, our good buddies from Katella have asked us to play a great show with them.

December 19th, 2002 at The Rave with...

But please don't forget that the next day we will be playing at Vnuk's Lounge with Full Blown Margaret and Janus from Chicago.

Recording is coming along nicely and we have been putting guitar tracks down every night this week! Hopefully they will all be done early next week. Then we figure we will need to tweak some bass lines and then it's off to vocals at that point!

BattlestaR CadillacticA

thanks you for your compliance

We have another show coming up during our exhaustive recording effort. We kinda said to ourselves that we wouldn't play any more shows until the CD was done, but this one was too cool to pass up. We have a gig at Vnuk's Lounge on December 20th with the competitive guys in Full Blown Margaret and a band from Chicago called Janus. I Have downloaded some of their music and they seem like a very cool band. We will be playing first followed by Janus and then the Margarets. Recording is coming along slow but we are making progress. Next week should be a big leap for us, really.

You know, I can't get it out of my head the thing that Hagrid told Hermione when Draco called her a mud blood. He said "Don't you think on it Hermione, don't you think on it for one minute". With tears welling up in her eyes she was obviously grateful and in that moment I felt better about myself as well. God bless the Hagrids of the world, you know who you are!

BattlestaR CadillacticA

The big rock show last night at Club Brady was a resounding success and Full Blown Margaret was very kind to let us play with them. It was also very fun to rehash an old Two Ton Heavy Thing song even if Thode kept screwing up the parts. I told him "Thode, you know that part where you made a mistake? Well, don't do that!" I'm just kidding, Steve played fine and despite the complete lack of vocal monitors it was a fun night of rock. Thanks to all in attendance.

We are now recording again and this time we mean it! Soon now ...soon!

BattlestaR CadillacticA

Alright, if you want to see some Paul Terrien pictures, you can view them in the pictures section under...

Pictures from Local Clubs

Paul is a great picture taker who just happens to have an awesome 42mega pixel camera. It's worth the loading time, even if you have dial up.

Also I should note that BattlestaR CadillacticA has a show this coming Saturday November 16th at Club Brady (formerly Harpo's) with the stunning band Full Blown Margaret. Keep in mind that the full band formerly known as Two Ton Heavy Thing will be in the same room at the same time with all their instruments, so if you're feeling nostalgic you just might get a special leaster treat!

You should come to this show if possible cause ...well you just should, ok.

BattlestaR CadillacticA

thanks you for your compliance

Wow, what a show at Vnuk's Lounge! We haven't had this much fun at a show for quite some time now. Thanks to the many people in attendance. Filling up Vnuk's like you did is like a personal gift to us as a band. We just want to thank you for it! Also, look forward to new pictures from the always brilliant Paul Terrien

Special thanks to the boyz in Strange Land, rocking as usual. Acumen wasn't at full power due to illness, but they fought the good fight and played a very short acoustic set without their drummer or singer.

Wow, thanks again for coming out!

BattlestaR CadillacticA

thanks you for your compliance

We have a show coming up soon folks!  I don't mind telling you that we are really looking forward to it. It's at the awesome

Vnuk's Lounge on Saturday November 9th.

We get to play with our sister band Strange Land and a very interesting national act called Acumen. Even though they still have it up on their site that they are playing alone at the Mirimar, don't believe it. They are playing with us at Vnuk's. I guess some people just have lives and don't update there web pages like me. I embrace my geekitude, though it is a tough row to hoe.

Recording is coming along wonderfully. We have some stuff done and it already sounds HUGE! I can't wait for you to hear it, it won't be long now! With 4 songs done music wise, we have 6 remaining and then we are off to vocals! Yippie!

BattlestaR CadillacticA

thanks you for your compliance

Recording update:  Currently 6 of the 10 songs have completed drum tracks. Recording presses on. We have set some fairly lofty goals and we look to have a finished CD way before you think we should. We record again tonight and are hoping that progress starts to flow even faster than before. Soon you will be able to get the long awaited "Farming in the Sands of the Hourglass"! Are you getting excited? Well I am!

Also we have a show coming up November 9th at the awesome Vnuk's Lounge. If you haven't yet seen the renovations Dave Vnuk has made, then you owe it to yourself to come out and see them. Plus how often have you been able to see BattlestaR play lately? Not much, see ...we are trying to make you really want to come out to a show because it's a rare event. With our recording schedule continuing, gig's will be harder to arrange so I personally think that now is the perfect time to see a show. But that's just me.

BattlestaR CadillacticA

thanks you for your compliance

Just for posterity I figured it might be a good time to think back on what we've done and post all the shows we have played thus far in our illustrious careers as BattlestaR CadillacticA. Ahhhh the memories are all coming back to me now!!

I have been working on the web page this weekend, trying to make it look better with higher screen resolutions. Hopefully you 800x600 types won't even notice a difference. Please let me know if you find any problems or if something doesn't seem to be working right. There are still a couple minor bugs and I will fix them soon.

Also we have a show in the works for November 9th at Vnuk's Lounge.

We will be playing with a national act called Acumen and our good buddies Strange Land.

BattlestaR CadillacticA has played their first (and most likely last) wedding gig.

"ching ching ching" attention ladies and gentlemen. At this time we would like to congratulate Lee and Michelle and tell you how much we like them. Congratulations, you kids are the best.

This Saturday we get to play a wedding! This is a recipe for fun if we have ever seen one. I really hope you've been invited, cause this is going to be something special folks.

We are so honored and humbled to be asked to play a show like this.

BattlestaR CadillacticA

thanks you happily ever after

Recording is coming slow and now we have another show coming up on the 23rd of this month at Points East Pub with our friends fizzgig. Most times when I see their name it is not capitalized so I have made lower case a habit. (I hope this is ok fizzgig ...FIZZGIG!!) We have some new ideas about recording, and if they pan out then we should be done with the drum tracks in a weekend. Drums drums drums, they are so important to a good sounding CD, really they are.

Notice all the microphones in this picture ...guess what we are using them for?

BattlestaR CadillacticA

We are still recording.

Please check out the new and partially finished pictures section here at the site.

Recording has started and all the things we have learned are helping us greatly. We are getting some good sounds and our new cd is just around the corner.

Mean time I have been working on a new and bigger "picture" section for the site, so keep your eyes open for that. It will include many pictures you haven't yet seen before. Exciting ...'eh?

*As a side note, if you have any pictures of shows, or pictures of people at shows, or just pictures of you or a loved one ...or really a picture of anything at all, please send them to me and I may put them up on the site.

What a great time we had at Summerfest.

BattlestaR CadillacticA would like to apologize to everyone for starting at 4:30 instead of 5:00 (like it said everywhere for 6 months). We can assure you that it was quite beyond our control. We don't  know why this happened, we found out an hour before the show ourselves. It is such a fun gig though, so how could we even complain? Thanks to Chris from Points East Pub for mixing sound for us. If you thought we sounded better this year (and some have said as much) then it was all because of him. And thanks to you, the reader, for coming out as well. If you're reading this then you most likely were in attendance. It was great to see you all there. BattlestaR CadillacticA now turns it's focus to recording once again. We have learned much and are now ready to begin the process. We'll keep you updated.

We have confirmation on the Vnuk's Lounge show for Saturday June 29th. We can't wait to play, and if you're not doing anything please come out. We know it's hard to fill a bar during Summerfest but think about it, it's like this. It's Saturday night right, and Summerfest will be jammed with sweaty overweight drunk people. That space by the Jazz Oasis will be totally impassable. Hell, you won't even be able to lift your arms out without hitting 6 people. Who wants to put up with that? Save your valuable Summerfest tickets for weekdays, like Monday for example. Like maybe Monday July 1st. Then you can come and "stand around" with BattlestaR CadillacticA at the Lazer 103 rock stage at 5:00P.M.

Also I have acquired a new pink/orange guitar that will make it's maiden flight these next two gigs, so come out to see the color, it'll be worth it.

Picture does not represent obnoxiousness properly, you must see to understand

Steve is doing great and he is back up to full bass playing ability (which is considerable).

We have procured the services of Chris from Points East Pub, so this year we will have a soundman who will most likely even be awake while we play! This should improve the quality of the show in ways we can't fully express without crying. July 1st is going to be fun and we can't wait to see you there.

Also there is a pre-Summerfest warm up show scheduled for late this month at Vnuks Lounge but we haven't got a confirmation on which day as I type this. We will let you know when we do.

Steve's hand is looking better all the time. We have been practicing a little now and he is going to be ship shape real soon. We're so glad he is going to  make a full recovery.

I got new socks on!.....they gave me a wallet!! -Michael

Steve is on the road to recovery, however we regret to inform you that we must cancel our show at Points East Pub with OUTLANDER on the 7th of June. We were really looking forward to it, but playing is just impossible. I will be at the show in audience format to root them on. Steve went to the hand doc today and they took his splint off but he still can't move his bass playing fingers at all.

Recording is coming along too. Michael has most of the drum parts complete and soon we will begin to piece together the first ever full length BattlestaR CadillacticA CD. Next come the guitar tracks and then we will be on to vocals (of course leaving the bass parts for last). It's moving quickly now and we should have at least a demo sampler around the time we play Summerfest. No promises but it's looking good right now.

Great news has befallen BattlestaR CadillacticA on this day.

We have received word that there is a spot for us at...

Monday July 1st

at 5:00 P.M.

at the Mountain Dew

Rock Stage

with Point Special Beer and Lazer 103

We are so excited to be playing at the Big Gig! Please come out and see us if you can, we are planning special things for that day and if everything goes right, it will be everything Summerfest is supposed to be!

"It takes more than a freight elevator to stop the BattlestaR"-Scott from OUTLANDER

Bad news has befallen BattlestaR CadillacticA on this day.

This very morning at approximately 8:02 in the A.M. Steven Hansen, our esteemed bass player, crushed his right hand in a freight elevator. This has resulted in the broken tip of one finger and  the breaking of a second in two places. The second mentioned digit was also lacerated to the bone. Rumor has it that he has procured some good drugs from his surgeon and is resting comfortably. Thank God! This means we are questionable for our show on June 7th, and recording bass parts for the CD will have to wait. We are sure that Steve will make a full recovery, it will just take time. We will keep you updated on his progress.

We love you Steve.

Recording is coming along and tracking of the drum parts has begun. We cannot play any shows or even practice until all the drum parts are complete, how exciting! Michael is rocking my world with his solid, perfect drum lines. The CD is already better than Corpulence.

BattlestaR is recording and unable to play a show, but that doesn't mean that Jeff can't let loose with his acoustic solo project. It's not a BattlestaR CadillacticA show mind you, but Jeff and his lone acoustic guitar will be playing 30 minutes of original material and cover tunes on May 10th at the Points East Pub. Jeff will be opening up for Decapitado and Binky Tunny . I would like to thank Binky for asking me to play, thanks. Plus I would like to thank Tinker for the acoustic inspiration, thanks. I will be extremely scared and will, most likely, butcher my simple pop tunes ...so that should be very entertaining.

Please come if you can.

Wow, what a night we had last night. I keep hearing Rodeo Rob saying that it was possibly the most fun he has ever had on stage, and I might have to agree. Special thanks to Rob and Tinker for playing Bon Jovi with us, we love these guys. They are talented individuals that also happen to be very nice guys. Please go see Tinker and Binky Tunny whenever you can.

We would also like to thank all the other bands at Spoof Fest for being very cool. Something like this is only incredibly fun if you do it with fun people, and we did. There are too many individual people to mention but I just want to say thank you to all the people that helped out from the make up/tattoo people to the sound and light guys. Thank you all so much.

Wow was that fun.

Bon Jovi fan Laura Michaelchuck representing!

Now recording begins for BattlestaR CadillacticA. Yeah I know we've said that before but this time there is nothing stopping us (that we know of yet) so we are on this. We should have a new CD to give to you soon. I'm so looking forward to that day.

The first day of Spoof Fest is complete and all the bands were great. The high points were Nate Ridgley's "Talking Heads" and, not surprisingly, Michael Brandenburg's "Tool".  We all miss seeing the very talented Nate play live, hey buddy how about getting a band together already? The always willing to go over the top KA's (featuring the very blue Michael Brandenburg on lead vocals) rendition of "Tool" was perfect. The movies playing on their backdrop were just as disturbing as I would have expected. I can still see that pathetic little mutilated puppet...poor thing. The crowd was large and fun was had by all.

Tonight BattlestaR CadillacticA plays and after last nights success we should be in for more fun than could possibly be legal. Don't miss this cause later you will be saying "damn, why didn't I go to that?"

Well, we have now completed the second leg of our mini-tour and all that remains is Spoof Fest. Strange Land and Tinker both played great last night and now BattlestaR looks forward to playing Bon Jovi songs (something I never thought I'd say). Don't forget that Spoof Fest goes Friday and Saturday so you will want to come both days. Here is the line-up...

It's going to be very very fun, so you might want to begin preparing yourself right now. Get plenty of sleep, eat your vegetables and we'll see you at Spoof Fest.

The Whole band had a great time at our very first Points East Pub show. The conventional wisdom is that the sound there is good and we agree.  We would really like to thank all the people who came out to see us. I am always happy to entertain you with my post guitar solo freak outs and Michael ...well, he's  worth coming out to see for his between songs banter alone.

Recording has not yet begun. We have three shows in three weeks and we are starting to call this our first mini-tour. With both BattlestaR practice and Spoof Fest practice, there is not much time these days. But after this "tour",  we will be wood shedding this thing they call recording.

We would like to thank Your Frustration for having us at their extremely fun show last night. They are quite heavy. We look forward to future gigs together. Check them out please.

It's always so inspiring to play a show with cool people.

The new addition to Vunk's Lounge is not complete as I had previously though but it is a good part of the way along. Once this is complete this place will be, what could only be called, a premier rock club. It is amazing to see! We look forward to playing here again because I'm quite sure this place is going to be popular folks.

Have you been to a show lately where you've heard our guitarists amp crackle and then cut out for a second or two? If you have been to any of the last three shows you just may have experienced this bizarre phenomenon. I hope you enjoyed it ( I certainly did not! ) because those times are over. I am the proud owner of my very first "rack". With the money returned to me by our thieving government I have purchased a whole new guitar rig. It has so many buttons and lights... it's like a airplane dashboard. Just it time for recording too...such luck! The recording has not yet started as we have run into some new problems (aren't there always more problems that you realize?) We need a thing called a "condenser mic" and a couple of other small things and then we will begin the process of trying to capture our souls onto a hard drive in the form of WAV. files.

I gotta go, I have manuals to read and sounds to program. See you March 9th.

Well, for some mysterious reasons we can now begin to record. I can't tell you how, but this is great news for BattlestaR CadillacticA because now we can begin to lay tracks for the new CD. Soon you will be able to listen to the new material in the privacy of your home or car! It is very exciting for us. Hopefully we'll be putting something up on the MP3 page before you know it. The ball is rolling and we are off like a John Valby song.

We also finalized a show for March 9th at Vunks Lounge tonight. We will be playing with two new and different bands. Your Frustration and Ditz. Please check them out if you get a chance, they are cool.

We have another show coming up and we are playing  with our good buddy (and fellow spoofmeister) Tinker. It's on the 25th of this month at the Tasting Room, so the P.A. conditions should be interesting. (they have a less than modern sound system there) Hey, at least I got that "guitar amp cutting out in the middle of the song" thing worked out...temporarily. Other than that, the band is in good spirits and recording is coming soon.

There is really no more news, but oddly enough I feel compelled to write something additional. Maybe I should be writing a song instead of this journal huh? Ahh well. Do you feel as if you are getting to know me and the band on a more personal level? It's like we are spending quality geek time on the computer together...isn't it? We are really very glad you take the time to read this news and I personally thank you for enduring my rambling. Email me and maybe we can go get lunch or something.

What a great time we had at the very first P.R.O.G. event. It's success means that there will be more such shows in the future. BattlestaR CadillacticA would like to thank the over 200 people in attendance. Also we would like to thank the other bands that were so kind and so very cool to play with. Thanks especially to Dave 'one hell of a bass player' Burkowitz for including us in this most excellent showcase. We are still unsure about actually being progressive, but I guess categorization is an earthly thing that we must all face.

We seem to be getting more and more hints from people about where and how we might record our new C.D. I think we have pretty much settled on recording the bed tracks with a recorder of our own and taking the product and performance to a studio for mixing and mastering. If everything goes as planned, we may begin work in as little as three weeks. Everything seems to be working out...whoda thunk?

Oh and one more thing...

BattlestaR CadillacticA is gearing up for our Progressive Rock Showcase on the 12th of this month. That's not too far from now kids. You should be seeing advertisements all over the place by now. We are really looking forward to playing this show and we have been practicing hard.

If you can, please come out and see us with all the bands mentioned here.

Strange Land

Dimension X

The neurotic web page revamps continue and I hope they are improvements. While things are "prettier" they may load a little slower. Most of you have cable or DSL by now don't you? Everything is quiet on the BattlestaR CadillacticA front. Not much practicing lately but sickness is an ever present factor. Soon we will begin to bust our arses for the upcoming Progressive Rock Showcase featuring us, Strange Land, Dimension X Project and Shadowcaster. This is going to be a good time. Mean time I will continue to obsess over the web page like only a bored and crazed guitar player can.

BattlestaR CadillacticA

The show at the Tasting Room was a great learning experience for BattlestaR CadillacticA. There were many kind Cadillacticans (some even in fancy dress) that came out to support us and we are very appreciative. A very special thanks to Steve Thode who worked very hard on the sound, despite the futility of the exercise.  Personally, my voice is squeaking like a cartoon stroller when I talk. Singing is much worse. Just in time too, we have decided to take this week off. To me that means "more time to work on the web page". Have you noticed any changes? I'm sure you have cause you have to go through there to get to here. Please let me know if you are having any trouble accessing anything. One thing though, if you are using Netscape Navigator some things may not work. If you don't have it, please download...

Things are strange these days for BattlestaR CadillacticA. Recording is a mysterious thing and we are unsure of how to proceed. There are many paths ahead and we must choose carefully. The band will continue and complete "Farming in the Sands of the Hour Glass".

The show at the Globe last Friday was cool because we met a great new band called "Pawn". They are creative and talented and we hope to play with them again soon. We are practicing hard for our show coming up this Saturday at the Tasting Room. Please come if you can make it, and say hello.

BattlestaR CadillacticA

We finished another song last night. If all goes well we will play this tune at the Globe show on the 23rd (that's 6 days from now). It's called "Let's Roll". It's a bit of a patriotic ditty about freedom and heros. The rhythm section of the band is very sick and has been for the past week. Hopefully they will feel better, and not just because we have a show soon.

Side project news: BattlestaR CadillacticA is teaming up with Tinker to play SPOOF FEST. We will be Bon Jovi, and we will play all the hits. There will be two shows close to April 1st 2002. We will contact you with more exact information closer to the shows.

(to get on our mailing list please send your address to mainsoda@yahoo.com )

Mike Woelfel on bass: Our drummer has two bass gigs coming up (yes he plays bass). The first gig is Saturday November 24th with Binky Tunny and the Farmland Chokehold. It is a benefit concert at Shank Hall and they will be playing Queen songs. You won't want to miss that. The second show is with band friends Kid Ego. He will be playing 3 full sets with them at the Trysting Place in Menomonee Falls on the 6th of December.

The newly revamped web page design has begun. I am learning FrontPage and I like the software. I am really looking for some flash 4 stuff because I have always loved that, but so far this is working quite well. Please check back often for updates and future revamps. This will be an on going process in which improvement will happen consistently.

Thank you for your compliance.
